A review of Iron Man 3
I didn’t join the legion of fans who lined up during the first few days of opening of Marvel’s latest hit, Iron Man 3. I just don’t see the point of being the first to see the movie. It’s going to be the same film whether you watch it on the opening night or a week after. I know that some people do it so they could brag about it to their friends and post about their experience on Facebook, but I’m not into that. I watch a movie to enjoy a movie. That’s it.
Anyway, enough of that. What I am writing about here is the movie that I watched. The latest instalment in the iron man franchise promised a great deal of excitement and it certainly delivered that. Directed by Shane Black, the third Iron Man film proved to be a brilliant conclusion to the trilogy.
The film still deals with billionaire industrialist Tony Stark who leads an open double life as Iron Man. He is drawn into a conflict against the mysterious terrorist known as the Mandarin. In an attack Stark barely escaped with his life. He soon finds out that the real villain was not the Mandarin but someone from his past and that he is actually dealing with someone more malevolent than a dime-a-dozen terrorist. He uncovers a plot that would plunge the world into a great deal of trouble while having to save his beloved at the same time.
The effects and the action are flawless. Just when we thought we have seen everything when it comes to special effects we get to see them doing something new in the movies. The effects are so good that we do not doubt that Robert Downey Jr. is flying around in a metal suit and can do all the things that he is doing screen.
The acting is okay as well. Downey has just demonstrated how great an actor he is. He has managed to bring Tony Stark to life. The rest of the cast delivered an okay performance too, with Paltrow, Cheadle and Pearce backing up Downey’s virtuosity.
The only problem that I have is with the story and I guess that’s the fault that I find with most movies that I watch. I just don’t find any sense in the actions of the characters of the movie and that’s not just with Stark but some of supporting guys as well. As you can see the only problem that I find with the film is rather petty so that means this movie is pretty good.
My experience with accountants
Are you interested in becoming an accountant? That is a great choice for a career because accountants are always in demand. No matter what company or business there is always a need for an accountant. I am not accountant myself but I have worked with several and I have a few accountant friends. So I can tell you what an accountant’s life is like.
My Experience with Accountants
Most of the accountants that I know told me that they didn’t really plan on becoming an accountant. It’s not one of those professions that children dream of when they are young. Many of them just decided on it when they were entering college. Most of them did well in Math in school and that was part of the reason why they decided to take up accounting. That was part of the common impression of people that accountants have to be some sort of Math whizzes. They didn’t realize until later on that the impression wasn’t true at all.
While Math does play an important part of their job and being good at it would help a great deal, being an accountant isn’t all about numbers. Most accountants would tell you that their work is more about analysis. They have to dig deep down in order to find out the things about the business that they need to know.
Professional Freedom
Most of the accountants that I know have told me that they have a great deal of freedom when it comes to their professional life. Since all businesses and industries are in need of accountants they have a wider room of options. They can choose to work in certain industries that interest them, though they would still be handling accounting tasks. They can also choose to remain as consultants or be become regular employees.
A Great Deal of Work
The biggest complain that they have is the way that they might find themselves with a great deal of work and would have little time for themselves. This is especially true during the tax season when they are preparing a lot of things. Some accountants that I know admit to having no personal life. They don’t even have any hobbies which can distract them and so they are mostly depressed. But some of the guys that I know are able to maintain a happy balance between life and work.
It is all up to you on how you would handle your life as an professional accountant.
Mother’s Day
Mother’s day is a celebration held in different dates throughout the world. Some countries celebrate in March while others do so in May. It celebrates motherhood and being a mother. The most common way of celebrating it is by giving thanks to mothers through greeting cards, flowers and other gifts.
Equivalents of Mother’s Day
Motherhood has long been celebrated in different cultures and civilizations. In ancient Greece for example there is a cult dedicated to the goddess Cybele. This cult mostly celebrates motherhood. In ancient Roman there is a festival for Hilaria is also a celebration of motherhood. Early Christians also celebrate the Mothering Sunday. The modern day Mother’s Day celebration is really not connected with these earlier versions but despite that fact the people in some countries have associated their own traditions with the modern holiday.
The Modern Celebration
Mother’s Day as we know it started out in 1908 when Anna Jarvis decided to have a memorial for her mother. That would have turned out to be unremarkable if she did not decide to create a holiday that would celebrate not only her mother’s life but all of the mothers in the world. She started to campaign so that Mother’s Day would be an officially recognized holiday in the United States. She succeed by 1914 in her aim. By the 1920s Mother’s Day was so well established already that it started to become heavily commercialized.
Soon other countries adapted the holiday and they celebrated Mother’s Day in their own way. Before Anna Jarvis came along there has been several observances honouring motherhood in America already. In the late 19th Century various local celebrations existed with the same aim.Julia Ward Howe was one of those pioneers who also tried to get a Mother’s Day celebration be made official. But these earlier versions were soon forgotten and full credit for creating the holiday was given to Anna Jarvis.
Different Countries Different Celebrations
Different countries around the world have their own version of the celebration. They would adopt the idea but they would choose a date that coincides with a historic event within their country. In the United Kingdom for example, they took the idea of Mother’s Day but they choose to hold the date to coincide with an earlier holiday known as Mothering Sunday. In Catholic countries the date is changed to coincide with the feast of the Virgin Mary who is held to be the ideal mother.
A day in the life of a photographer
A lot of people think that photography is a very glamorous job. They get to take pictures and travel all over the place. They get front seat tickets at some of the most important events that are happening and they get paid to do it all. It’s not like they are working. But that image of the task of a photographer isn’t wholly true. While they do get to have some fun and they can enjoy their job, it does not mean that they don’t have to work hard.
What Does a Photographer do?
The simplest answer to this would be that they take pictures, but as you know there are many types of photographers. There are those who take pictures at weddings and events, there are photojournalists and there are those who take pictures of models. Aside from the most basic thing that they do which is to take pictures photographers have various tasks that they need to perform in order to fulfil their duty.
A Day in the Life of a Wedding Photographer
Covering weddings and the events that are connected with it might not be the most glamorous of all types of photography but it is a great way to start in this profession. You can learn to develop your skill and talents while taking pictures of couples and their guests.
A typical day of wedding photographer when he has an event to cover starts very early. He would have to prepare for the shoot and make sure that everything that would be needed is going to be ready. The cameras, tripods, extra batteries and other equipment should be ready a day before the event and should be checked before leaving the venue.
The photographer should also study the program of the event and now how long each part is supposed to take and what kind of pictures to take. He should also know the way to the venue. This is to prevent the embarrassing fact that one might get lost.
The photographer should also review the kind of shots that would have to be taken, based on what the bride and the groom wants. During the event he should also be on the watch for the special moments that would have to be captured on camera. The duty of the photographer would be to ensure that the memory of the event would stay alive through the pictures that he would be taking.
